Trade Training Taskforce
In response to the global financial crisis, the Minister for Education and Training established the Trade Training Taskforce in December 2008.
About the taskforce
The Trade Training Taskforce brings together key industry and government stakeholders to develop and implement urgent measures that ensure apprentices and trainees in training, and those who have lost employment or are at risk of losing employment, are supported to complete their training.
The Taskforce is responsible for:

developing and progressing a package of strategies (see below under Information and support) that support apprentices and trainees during the current labour market environment

involving employers, unions and other key stakeholders in discussions
-
determining and monitoring the implementation of the package
-
discussing with the Commonwealth Government how best to co-ordinate joint activities
-
monitoring implementation progress and reporting to the Minister of Education and Training.
